DELTA Environmental XPLORER for Instant Metal Mapping
Get the big picture with GPS-XRF. Get quick snapshots, instant visualization of data trends or analyze for comprehensive, defendable reports. From in-field rapid decision making to command-center monitoring, you get instant pinpoint location-specific sample chemistry or multi-dimensional metal content intensity plots. You can optimize sampling plans to reduce lab costs & reporting time for site assessments; delineate RCRA, heavy & priority pollutant metals; identify metal pollutant hot spots; screen cores to determine metal pollutant depth; track metal pollutant plume contours; establish contamination boundaries; and perform due diligence phase assessments, remediation & long-term monitoring.
Our high-precision analyzers dramatically reduce testing times allowing hundreds more tests per day with significantly higher confidence in site surveys. Our portable XRF analyzers measure 25+ elements per test, from Mg (12) to U (92), PPM levels to 100%.
Three selectable beam settings are available for varying measurement objectives. A single-incident beam setting can be used for ultra-fast site screening with solid LOD performance across the periodic table. A single-incident beam setting can also be used for exceptional LOD performance for a group of elements such as heavy metals, transition metals & light elements, or to focus in on a particular element of interest such as Cr, Cd, Ni or Cu. And, for more involved analysis, multi-incident beam settings can be used to fully optimize measurements for exceptional LOD performance across the full elemental range or for user selectable elements. You have the ability to choose for your measurement objectives.
Optimized Three Beam Settings: LODs depend on matrix, sample preparation, presentation and measurement time.

Attaches to handle of DELTA analyzer, balancing analyzer on ground for hands-free, extended in-situ testing.
Analyze more samples more efficiently for quick and accurate on-site assessments. Test for metals in soil, filter media, dust wipes, thin films, paints and coatings, oils and liquids, and hazardous waste. Screen sites for heavy metal pollutants quickly and effectively. Monitor contaminants and nutrients for safe and appropriate land use. Reduce time and costs of regulatory compliance.
DELTA Handheld XRF analyzers have completely revolutionized environmental testing. In the past, assessments relied exclusively on expensive and time consuming lab analyses which were based on samples collected at and shipped from the site. Now you can immediately check the composition of solids, liquids, powders, cores, fragments, filters & films, slurries . . . while you're at the site. DELTA handheld XRF analyzers provide cost-effective, timely analysis to help evaluate data in real time for rapid and comprehensive investigations to determine the next course of action. This means you can take action at the site and won't lose precious time or resources collecting non-representative samples and running up unnecessary lab costs.
Community & Residential Development
The DELTA is ideal for immediate identification of heavy metals in soil at low PPM levels. This is necessary to ensure safety prior to developing or renovating schools, community centers, residences and play & sports grounds. This is of particular importance when developing these properties on former landfills, industrial sites, orchards, animal farms, Brownfields or anywhere that toxic metals are likely to be found in large quantities. And, when older homes or buildings are being redeveloped, restored or painted, the DELTA is ideal for quickly identifying lead (Pb) in soils, on surfaces and in lead based paint (LBP) to ensure the safety of the project.
Dangerously High Levels of Toxic Metals in Developing Countries
Dangerously high levels of Pb, arsenic (As), mercury (Hg), chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd) and other toxic metals can be found in the domicile and play areas of peoples in developing countries where the knowledge of their danger are not yet known or where regulations are simply not yet feasible. Handheld XRF analyzers are used to quickly ascertain the presence and quantity of these contaminants. This allows world health advocacy groups to determine a course of corrective action to help developing countries prosper with local resources and with safe working practices and living conditions.
The safety of food sources is becoming increasingly important as the human population expands. With this growing demand, peri-urban farming and precision agriculture are becoming more commonplace. However, farming in areas adjacent to industrial and other urban facilities introduces the possibility of food crops grown in soil or irrigated with water with elevated levels of As, Hg, Cd, Cr & Pb. And, urban sprawl into areas once heavily farmed with unregulated pesticides, may introduce As and Pb to these new community gardens. The DELTA handheld XRF allows for rapid determination of these toxic metals as well as of nutrients and fertilizers, such as Ca, Mg, P & K. The DELTA XPLORER is ideal for precision agriculture as it allows for high intensity soil analysis in the field with results obtained and spatially modeled on-site.
Hazardous Waste Screening & Sustainable Industry
Most industries are now under pressure to follow a sustainable development plan to help minimize the environmental and health impact of their manufacturing and packaging processes. Handheld XRF systems are used on site by industry, engineering firms and regulators to ensure that any metal contamination is quickly identified and that remediation steps are working effectively.
Regulatory Compliance
Portable XRF is a well documented and valuable tool for both private and government regulatory driven analysis of heavy and priority pollutant metals in residential soils. This non-destructive method with its quick analysis time and high quality measurement capability make it ideal for field assessments, particularly of large areas. In fact, US EPA Method 6200 and ISO/DIS 13196 encourage portable XRF screening for high density, high volume sampling to correctly characterize a site.
